Arnold Knauth

Knauth, was born in 1918, whose work reflects the legendary light of Cape Ann, Massachusetts. Mr. Knauth’s paintings illustrate his Life-long love of sailing ships and the fishing schooners of Rockport and Gloucester.

Arnold Knauth studied at the National Academy of Design School of Art in New York, and the Hibbard Summer School in Rockport. He has won many awards, including the National Art Club Bronze medal for Oil Painting, the Epstein Prize for the Best Oil from the North Shore Arts Association, the Allied Artist’s Gold Medal for Watercolor and the Salmagundi Club Prize as well as many others.
